With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jessie Charles Rutherford in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, who passed away on March 17, 2022 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Herbert John; and his brother Milton Rutherford. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Rutherford of Overland Park, Kansas; his children, Jo Carol of Palm City, Jeffrey Charles of Riverview and James Curtis of Overland Park, Kansas; his siblings, Aubrey Rutherford of Millersville, Missouri and Betty Stockton of Catron, Missouri; his grandchildren, James Rutherford Johnston, Janelle Christine of Overland Park, Julie Cailyn of Overland Park and Jenna Catherine Rutherford of Overland Park; and his great grandchildren, Eva Mei and Maren Yen Johnston of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation.
