He was predeceased by: his parents, Almeida Henry (Porter) and John D. Henry Sr.. He is survived by: his brother David "Crockett" Henry; his children, Deanna Ford (Richard) of Louisiana, Stacey Stanley (Shannon) of New Madrid, Amanda Keene (G. L.) of New Madrid and John D.; his siblings, Robert Henry (Sharon) and Mary Alice; and his wife Carol.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Higgerson school or Riverbend pentecostal church.
