Joyce M. Higgs Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce M. Higgs (Cape Girardeau, Missouri), who passed away on June 18, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul "Eugene" Thiele and Mildred "Gertrude" Ross Thiele; and her husband Edward Thomas Stephens. She is survived by: her son Jeff; her grandchildren, Hailey Stephens Moore (Jeff) of Creal Springs, Ill. and Cameron Stephens of Creal Springs, Ill.; her sons, Jeffery Duane Stephens of Cape Girardeau and Kevin Ray Stephens of Creal Springs; and her sister Charolette Thiele Poston (Howard) of St. Louis. She is also survived by two great grandchildren.
She spent 12 of her last 15 months alone, due to nursing home lockdowns and the recent pandemic.
