He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest Dow and Anna Marie Vidrickson Hammond; his wife Helen Hammond of Cape Girardeau; and his sons, Craig Hammond of Indianapolis and Jeff Hammond of Des Moines.

Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church and Southeast Missouri Hospice.
