It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Stokes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, born in Lilbourn, Missouri, who passed away on April 24, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Stokes and Eleanor Bingley Stokes; and his brother Elbert Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hess; his daughters, Valerie Michelsen (Eric) of Lincoln and Jo Schlitt (Butch) of Oran, Missouri; his brother John Wesley Stokes of Sahuarita, Arizona; his grandchildren, Erica Renes (Matthew), Nathanael Michelsen (Leah), Alex Schlitt and Erin Seyer (Gavin); and his great grandchildren, Jackson Renes, Hudson Renes, Eleanor Renes, Genevieve Renes, Graham Renes, Evelyn Michelsen, Elijah Michelsen, Othniel Michelsen and Madelyn Michelsen.
