He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gerecke and Martha Lange Gerecke; his former wife Elizabeth Gerecke; and his daughter Beverly Ervin. He is survived by: his former wife Elizabeth "Liz" Metje; his wife Sue Gerecke of Cape Girardeau; his sons, Robert Gerecke (Nancy) of Blue Springs, Douglas Gerecke (Loretta) of Dexter and Michael Gerecke (Debbie) of Columbia, Missouri; his son-in-law Willie Ervin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; his stepchildren, Jan Bone (Ken) of Polar Bluff, Missouri, Chris Sheets (Jay) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Mark Nauert (Judy) of Whitewater and Beth Ross (Mike) of Troy, Illinois; his grandchildren, Rob Gerecke (Tabitha), David Gerecke, Bryan Gerecke (Mary), Chris Gerecke (Melissa), Sabrina Gerecke, Samantha Simpher (Jonathan), Mark Gerecke, Julie Drury (Chris), Meagan Riggs (Lyle), Jessica Allred and Abby Ervin; and his stepgrandchildren, Danny Bone (Taryn), Sarah Edmundson (Sheldon), Jordan Sheets (Lainey), Emily Harrington (Garrett), Nick Nauert, David Ross, Jeff Ross (Chelsea) and Trent Ross (Courtney). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
