He was predeceased by: his parents, Wyatt Isaac and Alma Parlee Cowick (Allen); his wife Frances Ruth Cowick; his brothers, Deward Cowick and Robert Cowick; his daughter Debra Lynn Bates; and his grandsons, Ralph Douglas Bates, Jr. and Curtis Wayne Bates.

He is survived by: his children, Sherry Ivona Cowick McCoy (Sherriff William Jewell), Thomas Allan Cowick, Jr. (Rhonda) and Pamela Parlee Cowick; his son-in-law Douglas Bates; his grandchildren, Bradley Allen Bates, Tommy Lee Bates, Laresa Ruth Stevens, Scott Tyler Stevens (Ricky Ferguson), Donald Levi Toms (Jessica Toms), Thomas Allen Cowick, III (Ashley Rae Cowick), Terance Jo "Joey" Cowick (Tammy Jane Cowick), Kayla Briann Danielle Horine (Jarrod Michael Horine), Kaitlyn Cheyenne Serner (McKenzie Lewis) and Kacen Wyatt Serner; and his great grandchildren, Aidrian Bates, Ivona Rose Mayer, Aivalyn Michael Mayer, Kara Sue Toms, Anthony Levi Toms, Kinsey Brooke Cowick, Emeri Royal Rae Cowick, Hayes Allan Cowick, Landon Clayton Fry, Lyla Noelle Fry, Lane Michael Horine, Lilly Jane Wallace, Chloe Kay Davis and Schaeffer Lee Wallace. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and later bring forth fourteen great-grandchildren.
