He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlin Shipman and Alice Shipman (Lemery); his son Michael Peterson; and his brother Danny Shipman. He is survived by: his wife Debra Johnson; his children, Amanda Cox (Mark), Jill Shipman, Gary Shipman, Jr. (Rhoda) and Doug Shipman (Maria); and his brother Dale Shipman (Rebecca). He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
