He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hooper and Ola Mae Hooper (Huston); his former wife Margaret Hooper (Reynolds); and his children, Rodney Hooper and Valerie Bennett.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Pickering (Bemis); and his children, Mike Pickering (Becky) of Carthage, Doug Pickering (Charlotte) of Sarcoxie, Randy Pickering (Leisha) of Keene, Kevin Hooper (Terri) of Carthage, Vicky Denholm (Pickering) and Pamela Dodson (Hooper) of Joplin. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and two sisters.
