He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Horance and Elsie Melvina "Cross" Smith; his wife Lula Bell McCann; and his siblings, Jay L. Smith, Grady Calvin Smith, Patricia Ann Goodman and Frances Marie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Smith (Deon) of Fidelity, MO, Robert Smith (Melissa) of Billings, MO, Charles Smith (Kayleen) of Neosho, MO and Linda Smith of Joplin; his siblings, Thelma M. Pyles of Carthage and Robert Franklin Smith of Mt. View, AR; and his grandchildren, Wendell, James, Daniel, Matthew, Michelle, Emily, Jacob, Timothy, Christopher, Megan, Marshall, Monika and Myles. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
