Anne Louise (Wunderlich) Dart Obituary
Anne Louise Dart (nee Wunderlich) entered into the arms of Jesus on February 16, 2021.
She was born on January 18, 1940, in Noblesville, IN, to Robert and Mildred (nee Barth) Wunderlich. Early in her childhood, she moved to Napoleon, OH when her father, a Lutheran pastor, accepted a call there. When she was 10, the family moved to Hickory, NC. There, as a pre-teen, she learned to play piano, a one-manual organ, and a bassoon.
In January 1955 they moved to Broadlands, Illinois. At the age of 15, Anne became the organist for Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In her junior and senior years of high school, Anne attended ABL High School, and graduated in 1957. She spent two years as a student at Illinois State University. With a two-year teaching degree, she took her first teaching position at St. John Lutheran School in Libby, MT. Her father made a family vacation out of moving her to Montana.
Anne obtained her Bachelor of Education degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Education from Concordia College in Seward, NE.
She subsequently served at schools in St. Paul, MN; Ferguson, MO; Longview, IL; Champaign-Urbana, IL; Jackson, MI; Orlando, FL (where she also served as principal at Zion Lutheran School); and Springfield, IL.
In 1997, Anne became a paraplegic, due to a congenital defect in her spine. She retired from teaching in 2005 and moved to Columbia, MO. She was an active member of Campus Lutheran Church until she was called to heaven, and regularly participated in the weekly women's bible study there.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her brother Rodger (Cindy) Wunderlich, her four children, Scott (Danielle), Aaron (Shelby), Jason (Jeanette) and Cheryl Hild (Jason), as well as ten grandchildren. Her family rejoices in Jesus' victory over sin and death, and eagerly anticipates being reunited with her in heaven.
