She was predeceased by : her husband Melvin Van Slooten; her son Steven Van Slooten; her son-in-law Gary Faaborg; and her siblings, Dorothy Drake and Robert Newell.

She is survived by : her children, Cindy Faaborg, Peggy Garbe (Ralph) and Robert Van Slooten (Margaret); her son-in-law Norman Sivesind; and her grandchildren, Eric Faaborg, David Faaborg (Angela), Colleen Le Prell (Glenn) and Heather Hjermstad (Scott Klein).
