He was predeceased by : his parents, Obria P. Swearingin and Eva Grace Odell; his wife Carolyn; and his brothers, James Swearingin, Donald Swearingin and Charles Swearingin.

He is survived by : his former life partner Mary Bray; his daughters, Vicki Ferril of Lathrop, Karyn Henggeler (Shaun) of Excelsior Springs and Kim Aldrich (Dennis) of Excelsior Springs; his stepchildren, Terry Giefer of Kansas City and Rob Giefer of Wisconsin; and his siblings, Betty Barton (Dean) of Richmond and Earl Ray Swearingin (Cheryl). He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.
