He is survived by: his children, Lori Denise Smith and Daniel Zachery Axe-Smith; his stepdaughter Christina Hunter; his grandsons, Rodney Allen Pyle, Randel Allen Pyle and Maxwell Cui; his great grandchildren, Brieanna McKenzie Elizabeth Green of Liberty, Missouri., Elaina Nikole Pyle of Liberty, Missouri. and Joseph Daniel Rawlins of Liberty, Missouri.; and his siblings, Charles Richard Smith of Fayetteville and Helen Carole Rogers (Charles Elwin Rogers). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
