It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jake Backues (Excelsior Springs, Missouri), born in Belle, Missouri, who passed away on September 17, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva William and Gladys Dora Backues (Basham); his wife Mary Jane Backues (Pennington); and his son Robbie Backues. He is survived by: his sons, Roger Backues and Kirby Backues; and his brothers, Marvin Backues and Melvin Backues. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
