He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Lee and Reba Sara Bennett (Barber); his former spouse Loa Kay Thomas; his wife Shirley Vern Cureton; and his brother James B. Bennett.
He is survived by: his stepgreat-granddaughter Aubrey Matthews; his daughter Jerilee; his son-in-law Mike McNern of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his son Thomas Dane Bennett of Fredericktown; his stepdaughter Lisa Matthews of Fredericktown; his brother John Bennett of Fredericktown; and his grandson Ronan McNern of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
