He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph R. Johnson and Alice Clark; his grandmothers, Shirley Ross and Minnie Mae Turnbough; and his siblings, Robert J. Johnson, Frank Clark, Allene Douglas and Dorene Acuff.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Johnson; his daughter Gwen Forsythe (Martin); his grandsons, Kyle Forsythe (Courtney) and Jacob Forsythe; his great grandchild Wyatt Forsythe; and his siblings-in-law, Dale Doron (Nancy), Larry Douglas, Jerry Acuff and Barbara Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece.
