He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Koontz and Wanda Koontz (Danley). He is survived by: his daughters, Sonya Weddington, Lavonda Fisher and Christina Helm; his grandchildren, Bane Weddington, Gracen Weddington, Kaleigh Fisher and Larry Fisher; and his siblings, Phillip Johnson of Kansas City, MO, Garnetta Johnson of Fayetteville, NC and Twila Russ of Maumelle, AR.. He is also survived by loving nieces (2) and nephews.
