He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Groves and Roxie C. Groves (Turner); and his brothers, Wilbur and Jim Groves. He is survived by: his wife Orpha Groves; his children, Karen Whetstone (Jeff) of Independence, MO, Tom Groves (Leslie) of Carmel, IN and Rick Groves (Maureen) of Independence, MO; and his siblings, Larry Groves (Janice) of Bethany, MO, Maxine Parman (James) of Stanberry, MO, Madeline Hickman of Lathrop and Norma Pittsenbarger of Bethany. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
