He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Thomas and Irma Thomas; his wife Anna Thomas; and his son James Thomas, Jr.. He is survived by : his daughter Judy Bomar; his grandchildren, Lisa Jackson (Eric) and David Kent (Lynn); and his great grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua (Kara), Meghan, Dylan and Kaitlyn. He is also survived by 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In memory of James, the family suggests contributions to be made to either the American Heart Association or to Kansas City Hospice.
