He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Vaughan and Dollie Vaughan (Baynham); his siblings, Myrtle Cave (Eddie), Geraldine Holt (Ancel) and Leslie Vaughan; and his sister-in-law Josephine Vaughan.

He is survived by : his wife Florence Childs; his children, Robert Vaughan (Cynthia) of Jefferson City, Kevin Pigford of Jefferson City, Kerry Pigford (Beth) of Springfield, Sheree Pigford of Jefferson City, Leana Mahaney and Carrie Wieberg; and his siblings, Clarence Vaughan of Jefferson City and Stella Specks of Fortworth, Texas. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
