He is survived by : his wife Dorthea Gardner; his sons, Rick Mathies of Kahoka, Steve Mathies of Kahoka and Doug Mathies (Sherry) of Atlantic Beach, Florida; his granddaughter Jamie Craig (Kenny) of Atlantic Beach; and his great grandchildren, Katelyn of Atlantic Beach, Florida. and Kylie Craig of Atlantic Beach, Florida..
