He was predeceased by : his parents, John Robert and Anna Olive Briggs (Lowe); his former life partner June Phillips; his wife Nancy Jo Traeger; and his siblings, Vivian Briggs, Doris Miller, Dallas Briggs, Morris Briggs, Dale Briggs and John Jr. Briggs.
He is survived by : his children, Vickie Nolte of Fort Madison, Laura Childers of Middletown, Glen Briggs (Donna) of St. Francisville and Douglas Briggs of Wayland; his grandchildren, Raven Spight of St. Louis and Caitlin Sterling (Joshua) of Middletown, IN; his great grandchildren, Makia, Tatyana, Sophia and Charlotte; and his sister Lois McCollister of Kahoka.
