He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfonso G. Ascensio and Carmen Ascensio. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Jose (Joe) and Tiffany (Little Miss Mila); his grandson Michael; his children, Evalyn and Landon; his stepdaughter Cristina (Tina); his son-in-law Bob Coomes; his stepgrandchildren, Jeremiah, BreeAna Coomes, Elijah, Corrinne Coomes, Micah and Alex Coomes; and also, Gotham, Sawyer and Ridley.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Luminos Hospice, at 700 NE R.D. Mize Rd, Suite 200, Blue Springs, MO 64014.
