With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernie Dean Gunnels in Kansas City, Missouri, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on September 18, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Allen Sr. Demery and Rebecca Demery; and her siblings, Archie, Otis, Josephus, Booker T, Lou Julia, Jennie Mae, Vessie and Evelyn.
She is survived by : her husband Willie Gunnels (Bill); her sons, Mark V. Gunnels (Cassandra) and Jeffery R. Gunnels of Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Mark Jr. Gunnels (Brittney) of Los Angeles, CA. and Marshawn Gunnels of Kansas City, MO; her great grandchild Maverick Gunnels; her siblings, Rosie Lee Thomas of Kansas City, MO and Allen Demery, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; and her sisters-in-law, Laverne Gunnels of Grandview, MO, Christine Pouncil, Macy Miller (Ronald), Gladys Burtin (Frederick) of Kansas City, MO and Ester Jackson of Raytown, MO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She later joined Concord Fortress of hope Church and attended regularly until the Covid pandemic.
