He was predeceased by : his father Sidney "Lee" Yount; and his grandparents, Earl, Veda Yount, Ernest and Ruth Sells.

He is survived by : his mother Delores "Dee" Yount; his sister Cindy Yount; his children, Jaime Yount (David Gharst Jr) and Robert "Bobby" Yount; and his grandchildren, Trae Gharst and Courtnee Gharst.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Richey's Club (11527 Hickman Mills Dr, Kansas City, MO 64134).
