We are sad to announce that on June 16, 2025, at the age of 72, Judge Leonard S. Hughes III of Kansas City, Missouri, born in Jacksonville, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Chandra Renee Gonzales-Hurtt (Charly); his mother Mamie; his children, Megan Hughes and Leonard S. Hughes, IV (Jonas); his stepchildren, Christina Randle and Vincent O. Matthews; his grandchildren, Jaisen Guier and Gavin Guier; his stepgrandchildren, Carli Hurtt Randle and Jackson Randle; his siblings, Dr. Kevin S. Hughes, Stephen C. Hughes, P. Shawn Hughes and Amy E. Hughes; and his uncle Mike Hughes.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Watkins Heritage Chapel (4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64130).
