He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille Givens; his parents, Love Givens Sr. and Beulah Sowell Givens; his siblings, Opal Avery, Elizabeth Scribner, James Edward Givens and Vernon Givens; and his children, Torrance Calvin Givens, David Tyrone Givens and Joyce Evelynn Young.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Givens, Donald Givens and Dorothy Robertson; and his grandchildren, Anita Johnson, John Robertson III, William Givens III, Marsha Young, Michelle Young, Toni Givens, Terry Givens, Jason Givens, David Harris Givens and Leah Spradling. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
