He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Shaw and Ruth Shaw (Vlier) of Nashville, Michigan.; his sister Donna Hill; and his daughter Jody. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Shaw; his children, Stephen Shaw (Cindy) and Sally Breshears (Jeff); and his grandsons, Brett Breshears (Alexis), Jack Breshears (Jea Garcia) and Nicholas Breshears.
