With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Russell Sandy (Kansas City, Missouri), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Adrian Sandy and Gudruda Sandy; his siblings, Wilma Jean Leith (Stan), Jim Woods, Raymond Woods, Phil Sandy, Bev Wiseman and Jolynne Harling; and his sister-in-law Ann Delehanty.

He is survived by: his wife Diana Flack of Salem, IL.; his children, Mark Sandy of Lee's Summit, MO, Lisa Toops (Jerry) of Wayland, MO, Scott Colstrom (Karen) of Osage City, KS and Todd Colstrom (Suzanne) of Gardner, KS; his grandchildren, John Sandy (Nadia), Jason Sandy (Ashlee), Brian Sandy, Brandi Kreisel (Cody), Brittany Nigro (Joseph), Tanner Toops (Ashlee), Tara Toops, Tucker Toops, Megan Colstrom (Andrew Zeserman), Max Colstrom and Ava Colstrom; his great grandchildren, John, Daniela, Kaylee, Wyatt, Jacob, Mikaela, Colton, Easton and Clara; his great great grandchildren, Charlotte and Elliot; and his siblings-in-law, Charlene Woods, Elaine Woods, Ramona Sandy, Susan Eiermann (Stephan), Paula Doyle (Bruce) and Jim Delehanty.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association – Iowa Chapter.
