With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sue Mohler Dorsey Durrett (Kansas City, Missouri), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 13, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Sue Mohler Dorsey's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Sue Mohler Dorsey has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her mother Loreen Dorsey (Mohler); her husband A. Overton Durrett Jr.; her father John Dorsey; her sister Mary Ann Dorsey Krauss; and her brother-in-law Dr. William R. Krauss of Columbus, OH..
She is survived by: her son John Dorsey Durrett of Kansas City; and her siblings-in-law, Virginia and Steve Otto of Lee's Summit, MO. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and many longtime friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the County Club Christian Church (6101 Ward Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64113). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery (7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64138).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to one of the following: Mt.
