He was predeceased by: his parents, William Simerly (Bill) and Thelma P. Simerly (Proffitt); his daughter Heidi Simerly; his grandson Jordan Scott Simerly; his great grandchild Junior Torres; his son-in-law Ed Cook; and his siblings, Leroy, Bud, Johnny Simerly, Donna VanMeter, Lynn Vaughn and Georgia Wharton.
He is survived by: his former wife Patsy Bestick; his children, Becky Vogan (Herb) of St. Joseph, MO, Tim Simerly of St. Joseph, MO, Trina Torres (Daniel) of St. Joseph, MO and Melody Simerly-Cook of St. Joseph, MO; his siblings, Katy Kimmel of Union Star, MO and Paul Simerly (Ann Marie) of Peoria, IL; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Simerly of Union Star, MO. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
