He was predeceased by: his parents, David Leo Hughes and Mona Hughes (Hinshaw); his daughter DeEtta Hughes; and his sisters, Peggy Forbis and Shari Morrow.
He is survived by: his spouse D. Ann Hughes (Brooks); his children, Rick Hughes (Becky), Randy Hughes (Deby) and DeDe Nichols (Kerry); his sisters, Lynn Dothage (Kenny) and Jo Sparks (Jeff); and his grandchildren, Michael Coleman (Shelby), Thomas Hughes (Deserae), Stephanie Hughes (Mitch), Joshua Hughes (Aubrey), Jordan Hughes (Cheyann), Logan Nichols (Symone) and Quintin Nichols (Hannah). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Maupin Funeral Home - Fulton (301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
