He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Aloysious (Louis) and Virgie May Kelly Grote; his son Richard D. Grote; and his sisters, Thelma May, Virginia Sue, Josephine, Helen Ruth, Edna Kelch Kent, Dorothy Meyer, Viola Grace England, Laura Belle Vogt, Martha Higgins, Shirley Langley Moran and Hazel Houchins Hess.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin R. Grote of Alton, IL and Brenda L. Niemeyer (Dan) of Edina, MO.; his siblings, Raymond, William, Harry Robert, Johnny, Betty Kordus (New York) and Francis Grosvener (North Carolina); his wife Patricia Joan Sisson; and his grandchildren, Allison Grote of Alton, IL, Mitchell Grote of Bourbon, MO, Joshua Niemeyer of Parkville, MO and Jared Niemeyer of Edina, MO.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
