He was predeceased by : his parents, Wilfred Merrel and Cleta Mae Mahurin (Roberts); and his siblings, Linda Abernathy and Dean Mahurin. He is survived by : his sister Judy Blakely (Don). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews, as well as three stepchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.
