It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paulie Andrew Schmitz of Kirksville, Missouri, born in Parnell, Missouri, who passed away on September 12, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, C. B. Schmitz and Anna Schmitz (Auffert); his half-brothers, Orley Schmitz and Oscar Schmitz; his sisters, Marguerite DeFreece and Marcella Pope; his nephews, Steven DeFreece and Joseph Pope; and his great grandchild Owen Bell.

He is survived by : his children, Lavern Schmitz (Joyce), Eddie Schmitz (Bonita), Paula Brawner (Kevin) of Kirksville and Patty Rogers (Bobby) of Kirksville; his siblings, Norbert Schmitz (Joan) of Parnell, MO and Irene Tobin (Kelly) of Ames, IA; and his grandchildren, Jennie Bell (Devin), Jill Briddle (Brady), Scott Brawner (Katie), Thomas Brawner (Jennifer), Maggie Jarvis (Danny), Rachel Van Riessen (Tyler), Ashley Cass, Logan Schmitz (Whitney), Megan Fast (Derek), Colton Schmitz (Ashreale McDowell) and Morgan Miller (Jake). He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
