He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul C. Grelle and Lucille M. Grelle; his great grandchildren, Callum and Asher Lira; and his brother Francis "Frank" Grelle.

He is survived by : his wife Karon Grelle; his children, Mike Lira (Dena) and Angela Lira (Eric Smith); his grandchildren, Alicia Reynolds (Jamie), Hailey Bodenschatz (Christian), Joshua Janes, Braeleigh Giannakis (Brenton) and Stacia Marshall; his siblings, Dennis Grelle (Marion), Ken Grelle (Carol) and Barbara Lowes (Ed); and his sister-in-law Debbie Grelle.

Memorials may be made in Paul's name to Delta Raiders of Vietnam (DROVA).

Gerry Grelle wrote a sympathy message

“Dennis, Ken and Barb! So sorry to hear about the Passing of Paul. As you may know Paul lived in the apartment next to us on the bottom floor at the Wellington apartments as newly weds. As a result we grew to be good friends during that time and we have many fond memories. I saw Paul last at brother Ron's funeral and we talked about him coming to see us in Oklahoma during one of his visits. I was really looking forward to that and now I am sad that won't happen. Our prayers are with Him. Gerry”
