She was predeceased by: her parents, George Carpenter and Mary Carpenter (Bachman); her husband Robert Gilkerson; and her siblings, Lawrence, Lula, Frank, Leo, William, Roy and Bernice.
She is survived by: her children, Don (Verlee) of Kearney, MO and Dena Ridenour of Kansas City, MO; and her brother Virgil Carpenter of Stanberry, MO. She is also survived by two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
