He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Kern and Eva Kern; his grandson Aaron Kern; and his sister Wilma Eaton. He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Boyer; his sons, Kenneth (Pamela) of Excelsior Springs, MO and Kelson (Michele) of Liberty, MO.; his grandchildren, Adam, Morgan (Jason Weaver), Mackenzie (Taylor Harmon) and Madison (Ben DeHart); and his great grandchildren, Emma, Ryder, Hudson, Emery, Rhett and Rowan.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Dementia Society of America.
