He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Jahrling and Elaine Jahrling. He is survived by: his wife Sally; his daughters, Emily Jahrling and Morgan Stafford (Andrew); and his siblings, Sandy Jahrling, Jill Cullen (Dave), Karl Jahrling (Deborah) and Mark Jahrling.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Joseph's memory to a charity of choice or Church of the Resurrection's Downtown Missions Ministry.
