He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Lourn and Myrtle Bean Bumpus; his daughter Lisa Bumpus; and his siblings, Gene Bumpus and Phyllis Whalen.

He is survived by: his children, Rod Edgar, James Bumpus and Morgan Cross; and his brothers, James Bumpus and Ricky Bumpus. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
