He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Elbert and Bertha Gertrude Goad Barker; his wife Ruth M. Thompson; his children, Kenneth Barker (Shelia) of Glen Allen, James Barker (Debra) of Marble Hill and Karen Perkins (Bill) of Prineville, Oregon; his siblings, James A. Barker, Sr. of Glen Allen, Joe Barker of Glen Allen, Wanda Cooper of Marble Hill, Brenda Miller (Bill) of Marble Hill and Linda Russell (Joe) of Glen Allen; his grandson Zachery Barker; and his great grandchild Douglas Landers. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
