He was predeceased by: his parents, Ransom J. "Man" and Wilma Maedean Cook Garland; his sisters, Betty Schmitt and Lisa Garland; and his brother-in-law Wayne Schmitt.
He is survived by: his wife Faye; his sons, Michael L. Garland (James Mitchell) of St. Louis and Rev. Jeff Garland (Candi) of Marble Hill; his siblings, Bill R. Garland (Gail) of Marble Hill, Velda Doggett (Larry) of Sedgewickville and Judy Liley (Ken) of Marble Hill; and his grandsons, Bryant and Isaac Garland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
