He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Gordon and Freedie Mrytle Cook Long; his former wife Lois Emigene Thorne; his wife Gertrude Marie Jessen; and his siblings, Calvin F. Long, Clodine Statler, Juanita Seabaugh and Betty Green.
He is survived by: his children, LeAnn Abernathy (Rodney), Michelle Sides (Elmer), Rodney Davis (Christine), Brian Long (Julie), Bobby Sizemore (Tammy), Keith Long (Amanda) and John Stotts; his grandchildren, Perryann, Marissa Davis, Desera, Rodney Jr. Abernathy, Melanie, Trudy Davis, Destiney, Shannon, Dakota Long, Josh, Brock Long, Sheri Hopkins, Bobby, Trent Sizemore and Nathan Beardslee; his great grandchildren, Lamontez, Makiya-Ann Gammon, Raylin, Jayden, Kaiden Whipfler, Emma, Skylar Anderson, Jack, Ella Long, Kimber and Piper Sizemore; and his sister Elcie Pulliam.
