He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Homer S. Johnson and MaeBelle Krumman Johnson; his wife Helen Pitkin; his children, Al W. Johnson (Susan) of St. Louis, Janet Murray (Bob) of Moberly and Liz Sosniecki (Dale) of Moberly; and his grandchildren, Robbie Murray (Carissa) of Nashville, Dane Sosniecki (Nicole) of Kansas City, Ian Sosniecki (Alyssa) of Ft. Worth, Sarah Johnson of Columbia and Joann Johnson.

Donations can be made in his memory to Altrusa Christmas in the Park, the Mid-Missouri Honor Flight, or to Coates Street Presbyterian Church.
