He was predeceased by: his parents, William Everett Johnson and Mallie Ann Johnson (Gravitt); and his brother William E. Johnson (Bill). He is survived by: his children, Larry Johnson Jr. (Tina Fay) of Huntsville and Paula Johnson of Moberly, Missouri; his grandchildren, Jacob of Huntsville, Kenzie Johnson of Huntsville, Sabrina Kay Johnson of Huntsville and Brittney Nicole Johnson of Huntsville; his great grandchild Case Ryan Johnson of Huntsville, Missouri; and his siblings, Liz Baumgarden (Mike) of Wheatland, Fern Storm of Gardner, Connie Schlipf (Dan) of Macon and Eddie Johnson of Moberly. He is also survived by extended family and close friends.
