She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Bates and Nellie Bates (Clark); her husband Charles Emerson Farris; her sons-in-law, Harry Harrison and Vernon Shannon; and her siblings, Lester Bates, Ethyl Hyatt, Margie Jordan, Mildred Berkley and Helen Lunceford.
She is survived by: her children, Irene (Richard Smoot) of Moberly, Tom (Jolene Farris) of Moberly and Margie Shannon of Moberly; her grandchild Terra Skinner; and her brother Donnie Bates of Texas. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
