He was predeceased by: his parents, Asa Steele and Bessie Steele (Doty); his former wife Betty Miller; his daughter Lucretia Conway; and his sister Roberta Clay.
He is survived by: his spouse Delorce House; his son George Steele of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and his brother James Steele of Ardmore, Tennessee. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
