It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leota May Deichman Shoemyer of Monroe City, Missouri, who passed away on April 19, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin M. Deichman and Eloise M. Kraft Deichman; and her husband John Howard Shoemyer. She is survived by: her children, William J. Shoemyer of Paris, MO, Ellie L. Lugena (Houston) of Monroe City, MO and James Lewis of Monroe City, MO; her sister Linda Kay Johnson of Mexico, MO; her grandchildren, Robert Seymour, Rachel Johnston (Tim), Jaclyn Shoemyer, Vada Lewis, Jhett Lewis, John Lugena and Vera Lewis; and her great grandchild Miley Johnston. She is also survived by numerous cousins, neighbors and friends.
