He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse Smart and Cecil Smart (Stone); his wife Aleta; and his siblings, Joan Brown-O'Dell, Ray Donald Smart and Norma Joyce Smart.

He is survived by : his daughter April Boyer (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Jeremy Boyer (Jennifer) and Holli Stevens (Nick) of Perkins, OK. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
